Privacy Policy

Who we are

The Holmatrix (theholmatrix.com) is a private family organization app operated by Aaron Holman. It is used by invited family members only. It is not offered to the general public, and new accounts cannot be created without an invitation.

Information we collect

When you use The Holmatrix, we store the information you and your family enter into the app: tasks, projects, documents, recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, workouts, health notes, and similar records. We also store account information needed to sign you in: your name, email address, and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account email and profile name.

Google account data

If you choose "Continue with Google," The Holmatrix asks for permission to view and manage events on your Google Calendars. We use this access only to show your calendar inside the app and to create, update, and delete events that you choose to create, update, or delete in the app. We store the authorization tokens Google provides so that the app can keep your calendar in sync without asking you to sign in again. We may also cache event details (titles, times, locations, and attendees) so the family calendar loads quickly.

The Holmatrix's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In plain terms: we use Google data only to provide the calendar features you see in the app, we do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to run the app or as required by law, and no human reads your calendar data except with your permission or for security or legal reasons.

How we use information

We use your information to run the app for your family: to show you and your invited family members the records you share, to sync your calendar, and to keep your account secure. We do not sell personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your data to train artificial intelligence models.

How information is shared

Information in the app is shared only with the family members who have been invited to the same family account, according to the visibility settings in the app. We use a small number of service providers to host and run the app: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (web hosting), and Google (sign-in and calendar). These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention and deletion

Your information is kept for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from the Settings page in the app, which deletes the stored authorization tokens and cached calendar data. You can also revoke The Holmatrix's access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete your account and all associated data, email the address below and it will be removed within 30 days.

Security

Data is stored with Supabase in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to each family's data is restricted by row-level security so that one family cannot see another's records. Google authorization tokens are stored server-side and are never exposed to the browser.

Children

The Holmatrix is a family app. Accounts for children are created and managed by a parent in the same family, and children's accounts sign in with a password rather than with Google. We do not knowingly collect information from children outside of a parent-managed family account.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
